This listing is for a set of small steel wheels for 2×72″ belt grinders.
- They fit Origin Blade Maker small wheel holders (not included, you will need a small wheel holder to be able to use this set of wheels).
- We use 1018 steel & the wheels are surprisingly durable & grind finger grooves precisely.
- The set consists of 5 popular diameters: 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 7/8″ & 1″. The face where the belt runs is 2″ wide. As with all small wheels it is important not to spin these too fast, the bearings are too small to handle high rpm’s.
- We find that a 1800rpm motor with 4″ drive wheel provides a speed which is tolerable for moderate lengths of operating time.
- Keep checking the bearings for heat even at this speed.
- Higher quality grinding belts have smooth seams which will hardly be noticeable on these hard wheels but cheaper quality belts, especially coarse grit belts will be bumpier than rubber or urethane coated wheels.
- The bearings are replaceable & replacement bearings can be found in our store.
